Each shape needs to be in each square exactly once in the matrix. Simple process of elimination. The answer is the combination of which squares each shape has yet to occupy.
Row 3, you can complete the first column as already having the shapes from the previous rows. Row one, circle, row 2 triangle, row 3 would be a star For coloum one. Coloum 3 can't have that trinalge but we have the first 2 shapes from the previous rows, leading to a circle for row 3 column 3. That means the triangle only has one home left and that would be the middle column row 3.
Look at it like this, you have to plug both tables into one. Each shape has to be in each row and column but can't be 2 of the same shape in per row or coloum. Key rule is start by the top row and go down each row one after the other. If you move down to the next row, you can't go back to the first. Plugging everything into the first table, the row shows space, triangle, star. We have a circle we can plug in from the 2nd table. We see that there are now 2 stars in one of the columns and we can't have that. Since we're working on row one, switch the star and triangle, that way the last column has triangle, star, triangle( I know over lapping triangles but we didn't get to row 3 yet). Row one should be circle, star, triangle. We are done with row one. Row 2 you cant have 2 circles for that first column, so slide it to the right. Now you have blank, circle, and star. That blank is trinalge as that completes row 2.

The idea is that the matrix is complete when each shape has been inside each square.
