Number sequences

Number sequences may involve addition or subtraction. In arithmetic progressions, for example, a constant is added to each term.

Multiplication and division may also apply to the terms of a sequence. In geometric progressions, each term is multiplied by the same common ratio.

Sequences become more complex when multiple operations are applied to terms.

Additional degrees of complexity are added when it is necessary to discern patterns, or when arithmetic operations are applied to digits in the terms.

Patterns may also be created with factorials, exponents, and figurate numbers; the possibilities of forming relationships between terms is endless.

The categories in this section cover the most common types of sequences with a diverse range of questions.
